This month will be at Riverfront Park!Bring your picnic blankets and sunscreen and let’s spend some time reading under the trees. We will be located in the large open green area just north of the playground and toward the river (wander until you see our sign).

Capital Pride and Catalyst Community Fitness are excited to offer a High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class every Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM for just $5 per session.

HIIT involves alternating short bursts of intense exercise with brief recovery periods, providing an efficient workout that boosts cardiovascular fitness and burns calories.

This class welcomes participants of all fitness levels, from those new to exercise to seasoned athletes. Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for sweating and comfortable shoes.

Join us to engage with a like-minded community and achieve your fitness goals together.

The Gender Resource and Advocacy Center (GRAC) is located in the Montag Loft on Willamette University’s Salem campus.

Join the GRAC every Friday from 1:30-2:30pm for a supportive space for discussing, celebrating and exploring gender identity.

Capital Pride is partnering with Common People Yoga to bring you a monthly queer yoga class!

For just $8 (over 50% off), you can stretch those muscles every 2nd Saturday of the month from 10:30 to 11:30 am! Yoga mats will be available to borrow, but please bring your own mat if you have one.

This is an all levels class, with modifications available to adjust the class to meet your individual needs. There is never any pressure to do any poses that don’t feel good, with complete permission to back off from or completely skip any portions. If you need any significant accommodations or have concerns about what you will be able to do, we encourage you to come speak with the instructor, Michael, before class begins, so that you can collaborate on how we can help you get the most out of the class.

Let’s play some board games!

Join Capital Pride for a Queer Board Game Meetup on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month, from 3 to 6 pm at Ticket to Play Board Game Cafe!

Ticket to Play is ADA accessible, can hold 40 people, and allow no outside food, but offer food and beverage options for purchase. They also have a large collection of board games to pick from!

Normally Ticket to Play charges a $5 cover, but they’ve agreed to waive this fee for participants who make a food or drink purchase. If you are facing financial hardship, Capital Pride will cover the $5 fee for up to 4 attendees on a first come first serve basis.

Parenting can be hard and parenting an LGBTQIA+ child comes with its own set of challenges. Come enjoy good food and drinks while you chat with other parents of LGBTQIA+kids. We will meet at the same time as Rainbow Youth but this is meant to be more informal than our support group.

Meetings are for all middle- and high-school-aged youth, 18 and under. Join us for check-in, snacks, discussions, workshops, games, arts and crafts, help with homework, and chill time!

On the 4th Saturday of every month, from 10 am to 12 pm, we’ll be meeting at the Community Health & Education Center to get our craft on!

Bring your craft supplies and hang out with other members of the community while expressing your creativity. All types of crafts are welcome as long as they are safe to do indoors.

Please be mindful that the Community Health & Education Center is a hospital building, so children must be supervised and well-behaved at all times. Be aware that there will also be security at the front entrance.

The CHEC is ADA accessible and located on 939 Oak St SE within the Salem Health Hospital campus. There are nearby bus stops and a parking lot directly outside the entrance of the building.

The Salem Human Rights Commission’s LGBTQIA+ Rights Committee is looking for passionate individuals to join us in advocating for LGBTQIA+ inclusion and equity in Salem.

Since 2017, we’ve worked to address issues impacting the LGBTQIA+ community, including helping develop a transgender interaction training video for law enforcement and supporting ongoing inclusion efforts for municipal agencies. We also provide guidance to the Human Rights Commission and host the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance.

The committee meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m in Room 220 of City Hall.

Let’s work together to make Salem a more inclusive and welcoming place for all.
