Capital Pride is partnering with Common People Yoga to bring you a monthly queer yoga class!
For just $8 (over 50% off), you can stretch those muscles every 2nd Sunday of the month from 12:30 – 1:30 pm! Yoga mats will be available to borrow, but please bring your own mat if you have one.
This is an all levels class, with modifications available to adjust the class to meet your individual needs. There is never any pressure to do any poses that don’t feel good, with complete permission to back off from or completely skip any portions. If you need any significant accommodations or have concerns about what you will be able to do, we encourage you to come speak with the instructor, Michael, before class begins, so that you can collaborate on how we can help you get the most out of the class.

Normally Ticket to Play charges a $5 cover, but they’ve agreed to waive this fee for participants who make a food or drink purchase. If you are facing financial hardship, Capital Pride will cover the $5 fee for up to 4 attendees on a first come first serve basis.

The Salem Human Rights Commission’s LGBTQIA+ Rights Committee is looking for passionate individuals to join us in advocating for LGBTQIA+ inclusion and equity in Salem.
Since 2017, we’ve worked to address issues impacting the LGBTQIA+ community, including helping develop a transgender interaction training video for law enforcement and supporting ongoing inclusion efforts for municipal agencies. We also provide guidance to the Human Rights Commission and host the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance.
The committee meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m in Room 220 of City Hall.
Let’s work together to make Salem a more inclusive and welcoming place for all.

The August Pride Hike will be the Ocean to Bay Trail at Agate Beach. This hike will be during the yearly camping weekend. Those camping DO NOT need to sign up for the hike.
We will meet at 1030am on Saturday, August 29 at Agate Beach Parking in Newport. There is a parking permit fee unless you have a State Parks pass.
The hike will be 3.5 miles out and back with 524 feet of elevation gain. There will be paved roads and forested trails.
